This recorder picks up good, however it picks up too much background noise. The sound is excellent. The main problem I found with it is. It does not have an on and off switch. Which leaves it on constantly and will drain the batteries. It's really good for college classroom classes.

I have noticed several negative comments about battery life. READ the instructions. The HOLD button will turn the recorder OFF. Thus saving battery life. I bought this little gem a couple of hours ago. It took 5 minutes to program the time and date. 5 minutes, or less, to figure out that RECORD meant RECORD and PLAY meant PLAY. Did I mention it has its very own set of instructions?
I went to several stores this afternoon and made notes on several things I am interested in purchasing. Came home and wrote it all down. It doesn't get any better than that. Thanks Tom King at the Mobile, Alabama Staples for all his help.

As a sales rep, I use the recorder to save information from the sides of trucks (construction, lawn care, etc) and yard signs to contact as potential advertising customer. It's lightweight and small to carry in my purse, too!
