The Sony ICDBX112 Digital Voice Recorder has 2GB of internal flash memory, providing sufficient storage capacity for more than 500 hours of MP3 audio recordings at 8 kbps. The ICDBX112 is a fitting digital voice recorder for chronicling class lectures, capturing live music, documenting board meetings and even just recording daily reminders and preserving oral to-do-lists. The ICDBX112 also features a built-in monaural microphone, outfitted with Hi/Lo gain sensitivity control. It also supports Voice Operated Recording (VOR). VOR allows you to audibly signal the start of a recording without ever pushing the record button.

This recorder works very well. Great playback sound. I use this product regularly in a very large meeting hall. I'm impressed with the quality.

Don't fret if you can't transfer your files via USB connection. Use the following alternative if you have an audio jack/line/chord (especially from external speaker set):
1)connect one end to the headphone jack in the digital recorder and the other end to the microphone jack in your computer.
2)Open a sound recording software program (e.g. Wavepad, Audacity, etc.).
3)In the software program, click 'record' and save the file when you are finished.
4)Convert the software program file format into mp3.

Yes, there is hope for those of us who assumed "digital" and "mp3" meant USB file transfer, only to find out the contrary AFTER opening the package.

This didnt pan out the way I expected. Very temperamental. I recorded a meeting (which was easy to do) but then there are separate folders to put recordings in and when I went to play the recording, I accidentally hit "record" which is easy to do and I thought I ended up recording over my whole meeting because when I pressed play all I heard was the new recording. Then I just started hitting buttons and erase and magically my recording came back. Dont know what happened but I am glad it worked out. I will now give it to my son to play with.

      I am a dental hygienist and at times there is no available dental assistant in the office to help me chart my patients findings. In the past, I was relying on memory but I find as I get older my memory is that great. I place this recorder on the countertop behind me or in my scrub pocket and just talk away. When playing back you can clearer here what I am saying even as I speak through my face mask. Best "business expense" I have made yet!
