Purchased from Staples about a month ago, read instructions to erase "this is standard feature in dictaphones" and you CANNOT ERASE!! Cannot return, cannot order a tape eraser!!! This should have been SPELLED out BEFORE spending almost $300.

This gets the job done, but is nothing like the Sanyo TRC-6400 that we purchased this item as a replacement for.

I love this machine! Was looking a recorder that could record up to 90 min. of taped dictation by telephone and I found it with this Sony by adding a controller purchased from Radio Shack. The only possible "con" is that it is NOT an answering machine, therefore it has to be turned on once the phone is answered manually. I searched all over the internet and this was the best solution for me for recording purposes and doubles as a transcriber. Excellent sound, crisp and clear. Adjustable speed and volume controls are great features. Also recommend for those who do a lot of dictation or recorded statements.
