Good, but could be improved

Reader itself is good, page update a trifle slow, but good enough. Needs additional features such as calculator, address book. Needs additional organization tools for audio and pictures (provides essentially none).

Ebook sofware on PC is awkward to use, needs additional filters to show books not in collection, needs ability to drop book directly in collection, needs better collection management and control.

Needs text to speech software in reader. Expanding PDF fonts keeps any drawing in a PDF from showing, PDF useful with drawings only at smallest font.

Problems can be fixed with reprogramming from Sony if they decide to do it. Would compete with other products from other manufacturers.

Can use both SD card and Memory Stick PRO at the same time, allowing multiple collections and libraries. Bought with illuminated case, light must be positioned carefully to avoid glare.

Charger must be bought separately. Books included are not necessarily in English, some are samples only.

I've been hesitant, did a lot of research and finally chose the Sony reader mainly because it supports Word documents without conversion. Another reason I'm glad I didn't jump in with any previous models is I really, really like the touch control feature. The choice of different print size is excellent. The only down side is I'm finding it limiting on who I purchase e books from as the only source I can see at present is the Sony book store. I'm hopeful that is will improve in the future as more e readers are out there. Overall, very pleased with product.
