After a few months, I unload the shelves and flip them over. They tend to sag with a lot of weight.

The unit looks acceptable at first. However, there are 2 major problems:

1. Aesthetic: This is particle-board, not wood. Therefore, over time and normal usage, the edges of the surfacing may start to peel up. Any nicks will reveal the particle board.

2. Functional. Also a result of the material being particle-board instead of wood. The shelves will sag in no time with normal books! These are just not built well.

You get what you pay for. Avoid this poorly manufactured bookshelf.
