    This app and reader are a definite advantage for small businesses that may be set up in areas without power or internet. I was able to make more sales at my last craft show by being able to take credit cards, without the monthly fees. App download and account set up were very easy, both ready in minutes. Inside the packaging is a code to enter to be reimbursed for the cost of the reader as you can have a free one sent to you from Square Up. I did have trouble getting the scanner to read several cards and had to swipe them multiple times before the transaction would go through. Not sure if it was a problem with the scanner or operator error. Transfer of funds was quick, sales were done on a Saturday and money was in my bank account on Monday. It took 2 attempted phone calls for me to realize you have to remove the reader from the jack in order to take a call as it goes in the headphone jack. Overall, satisfied with purchase and would recommend to anyone with a portable business.

    This reader is great if you have any I product. But you have to know which Android platform it works with. Square told me AFTER the fact that although my Android device (Google Nexus and Lenovo tab) both with the same program is compatible with their reader it won't work because it's not supported by that particular platform.... ugghhh Know the Android platform this reader will work on. I couldn't even download the app to my Nexus and it wouldn't work on the Lenovo. Now I am on to the Samsung Galaxy... wish me luck.

      I read no fee when swiped, only for keyed transactions, but yet when I swiped I was charged the 2.75% fee. I do plan to use for craft shows, and my small business(avon). I've already recommend this product to someone.

        The Square is the best way to accept credit cards that I have found yet. No carbon copy receipts to keep track of, or get lost, so there is more security for the customer's card number. The product is easy to install and use. And the invoices from Square are very easy to understand and read. There is no yearly contract or "ever-green" clause in it, so cancelling the account or changing vendors is not a hassle at all. I give it 4 stars because the interest rate charged is a little high, and the funds processed are not posted for two days. Overall, though, a very good product. would not EVER go back to my previous credit card processor.

            Visited Staples to purchase an application for taking payments since our company Verifone credit card machine hit the dust. I was ready and had in hand a competitor's product and changed my mind. Good decision and saved me money as well. Very very satisfied with the purchase and it is saving us a good bit from what we were paying in merchant fees with the credit card machine.

              I have also looked at the Paypal Here and they gave a compatable list on their website and had quite a bit of HTC phones listed but the Inspire wasn't.

                I use Square Register & PayPal here. The card readers are as basic as headphones and Bluetooth ear pieces. It will read the card in both apps.
