I needed a tool to draw accurate circles on pieces of wood intended to be made into a bowl. This tool (compass) allow me to draw the largest circle possible for the wood I'm using to make the bowl. Previously I had been using drinking glasses, lids from jars, and anything else I could find that was circular and approximately the size I needed. Now, with the compass from Staples, I can draw circles that are exactly the size I need. This helps me to eliminate wasted wood. It also saves me money because the wood is expensive. This compass, while simple, is exactly what I needed. It works as intended and perfectly fits this rather unique need to support my woodworking hobby.

      We used this to help with craft projects at home. It worked great and fulfilled our needs. I had a compass that used a golf pencil orginally. When the golf pencil was all used up, the compass wouldn't hold a regular pencil. So we went seeking a new one and this one was perfect.
