I bought this lamp for my home office. I liked the styling and the fact that it was made for use with a compact florescent light bulb (included). After taking it out of the box and assembling the lamp, I was disappointed to find that the on/off rotary switch at the top of the lamp was defective. It was clearly poor construction, so if it weren't broken out of the box, it likely would have stopped working after some use.
In short: Disappointing, poor quality.

I love the way that this light can be adjusted. I use it on my computer desk and the height puts it well over the area I need illuminated.

The only problem I have with this light is that it gets EXTREMELY hot around the light bulb and you can't even touch the "shade" until it has cooled.

My home office area has a desk with a 4 drawer file cabinet next to it. This lamp lights up my desk and can be also turned to illuminate any of the 4 drawers in the file cabinet. It is heavy enough that it cannot be easily tipped over and it is exactly what I needed. Be aware that the counter-balance bar will take up some space when turning the lamp.
