That is definitely an odd problem. Just to recap:
1. Use Stanley-Bostich standard staples model SBS191/4CP or 25/6 stanrd staples.
2. Press the magazine release button (located on the top, at the back of the stapler body), the magazine will eject outward from the front.
3. Grasp the magazine extension and pull forward to insure a full strip of staples can be inserted. You should not be having to break strips of staples in order to fix them.
Note: After releasing the magazine, clean out any and all staples still in the magazine. At this point, examine the magazine and the area of the stapler body wherein the magazine sits, make sure parts of the magazine have not gotten stuck inside the stapler body.
4. Load staples (if you can) and push the magazine back into the housing until it is firmly locked in position.
If this does not work, feel free to either bring the stapler back into the store you purchased it and see if they can compare it to another one in the store, or feel free to contact Stanley Bostitch Support at 1-800-556-6696
