This is a DVI-DVI cable, so you aren't going to get the benefits of an HDMI cable. However, I have an older monitor that doesn't have an HDMI port, so this is the next best option. This isn't a high-end product, but it does the job. I don't know about durable construction as I have only had this product for a few weeks, but it's doing the job. If it dies on me, I will update this review.

I wish the store would have had more choices in length. Ten feet of cable has a certain use and connecting a desktop computer to a monitor just seems a little ridiculous. Of course it would have been worse if I needed a ten foot cable and they only carried three foot cables. The store I typically go to has a very convenient location and we've purchased several items there but it does get tiring making due instead of getting what one truly needs. Is there any way the stores could stock at least one or two of the more typical items in several lengths? Not asking for the real odd sizes but the more useful ones would be nice.

We are trying to move our computer tower to another room from our monitor. We need a cable that is about 20'. I can not find a cable that is that long, so is it possible to connect 2 10' cables togeather and still have it work?

  Probably not because most TV's don't have a DVI-D input like computer monitors do. My first choice would be a HDMI cable, providing you have a HDMI output on your laptop, and a HD TV with a HDMI input.
