I bought this shredder to replace a 5 year old shredder that had jammed and could barely run a few sheets before overheating. I did not pay much for it at that time. It was cheaply made with lots of plastic, thin metal blades and a low-power motor. Lured to the store to get a special deal that was sold out, I got this shredder for a little more, but it is totally worth it. The unit is not overly large, it works quickly and keeps going and going like the proverbial bunny. Because the old shredder worked so poorly, I had a big backlog, and this shredder had no problems with it. After shredding many garbage bags full of old financial documents, I have nothing but praise for this model. It shows again that paying a few extra dollars for a quality unit is worth it. The only negative, common to most shredders, is that emptying is messy. Some shreds stick to the plastic because of static electricity. This shredder does a quick job no matter how much paper you feed it. Therefore I recommend it highly for serious home or small office use.

Current shredder a vast improvement over my first one (which only cost $20). By shredding paper into very such tiny pieces, it makes for great security but tends to make a lot more mess than previous one. A plastic bag lining the bin makes it somewhat neater. I purchased this particular model after TWO other Staples shredders failed to work at all and were returned to the store. The front bin is a BIG improvement over previous models... at my age, lifting a heavy motor every time I needed to empty the paper container was becoming more and more difficult.

The product exceeded my expectations for the price. Was pleasantly suprised how much powere was in such a small box. Only downsise is the paper bin is a little difficult to get out and back in the first time. Also, the angle that you have to enter the shreddable document is kind of tough. I like the idea of the key because the unit is in a central place and it keeps people from putting items in the shredder that shouldn't be. The trade up sale being run by Staples is a very good idea and I am bringing another in this Sunday!

The box did not contain an instructional/safety manual. It did, however contain an instructional manual for a completely different product unrelated to the shredder.

Also, no lockout key was provided. I assume one should have come with this product as the box bespoke of such item.

Other than the above issues, this shredder does the job as well as I expected.

I bought this product on a 20% off sale and there was an additional $20.00 off for my trade-in shredder. I'm very pleased with the operation- it's really fast and hasn't jammed yet. I've shredded credit cards and other flat plastic items and it shreds these with no problem. The bin capacity is more than adequate and it slides out easily. I don't have to remove the shredder mechanism to empty the bin which is a time saver and there's not any mess. I've owned several Staples shredders over the years - this one is the best by far.

I had 2 SHREDDERS BEFORE AND THIS IS THE BEST ONE YET EASY TO USE EASY TO EMPTY WE SHRED ALL OF THE FAMILY PAPERS FOR IN-LAWS AND RELATIVES AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH THE SHREDDER IS LIKE THE MAGIC BUNNY IT KEEPS ON GOING WOULD NOT BUY ANYTHING ELSE.

Initially I shredded a couple hundred pages of old bills, credit card statements, etc and it ate them up no problem. Also much quieter than my previous shredder. Now I am shredding 10 pages a week or so. Suits my needs very well.
