I use this cable as a way to connect my Desktop large screen monitor to a desktop and a laptop computer for better visibility since I have limited vision in one eye. Also I do not have to keep moving the equipment around to change my connedtions.

Only thing to mention, they said this cable extender was good for up to 640x480 resolution, and tried to sell me on a much more expensive cablt that would do "up to 1024x768". Don't fall for that. All VGA cables are the same. This one works great at 1360x768, the res I need, and would workfine at a higher resolution too.

Good construction and length as many times these cables are just slightly too short to snake thru the wall or go from your entertainment center to your TV or from you PC to TV.

Q:
Why does the female end of this extension cable have screws to attach it to the male end of the monitor cable. The male end of the monitor cable has screws also and the two cables cannot be locked together. The female end of the extension cable should have sockets for the male end of the monitor cable to screw into. This seems like a VERY POOR DESIGN to me.

One view of the cables shows a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other. Another view shows male connectors on both ends. Which is it?
