Cannot emphasize what a mistake it was to buy this product. Multiple problems. First, the feed chute is entirely too narrow. The only reliable feeds are from individual sheets or documents bound in a tight package; a loose stack of documents will far more often than not hang up in the feed mouth. The feed mouth was probably made extra extra narrow to avoid liability from some [*]getting his tie caught in the mechanism; still, this renders the machine nearly useless for pratical shredding -- very seldom do I want to shred 10-page term papers as opposed to, say, a stack of opened mail with my name and address all over it. Second, contrary to the "as advertised", it has very poor power, and jams or overheats easily. Third, and possibly most annoying, although it has a large-capacity containment basket, it is very low to the ground. A side effect is that the shred forms a pyramid-like structure in the center of the basket, a structure which quickly builds until it reaches the auto shut-off sensor. Very soon after being emptied, you will receive a "Bin Full" message and have to lift a 12-pound shredding head and reach into the basket to shift the massive shred-pyramid -- all this with one hand full of shred materials! Brilliant!Bottom line: I very much regret buying this product, and when it dies (hopefully soon), I will purchase a Fellowes instead.

the top is too heavy to keep lifting and placing back. the paper shredded all gathers in the middle so it say "full" all the time and you have to keep smashing paper down. too time consuming for a busy office.

Avoid this product!! After 2 months of very light and occasional use it no longer works. When it did work the shredded papers forms a pyramid and you constantly get a bin full and have to remove the top to shift the papers.

This shredder stopped working after a couple of weeks. I called the toll free manufacturing number and they walked me through fixing the problem, which is: if you do not lower the top straight down when replacing, ( the two safety activication tabs) that turn the unit on will bend very eaisly. which is a known defect for the product. they tell you to bend them back into place but how many times can you bend it back and forth before the plastic tabs break off. this unit has to be emptied alot, even though the basket looks to be large, it only takes a handfull of papers to hit the shut off level, so we constantly have to take off the top and squish down the level, each time that you do that you take a chance that the tab is not alignined perfectly and will break.
