This is a new version of an older envelope. The old style had a string closure which was consistently secure. Unfortunately, the new version has a gummed flap that is easy to seal, but gets dirty quickly, and fails to close after only a few uses. There is also a tendency to tear the flap off when trying to open it. Get the old ones if you can.

The string secured your items much better than the gummed seal. It wears out fast and you have no flap to hold items in. We run our mail across town and cant take the chance of items slipping out.
