Q: I am looking for a viable option for charging 25 iPads overnight on a consistant basis. Would this Surge Protector be my best bet? Asked on 8/29/2011 by Nate from Del Rey, CA Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: This product would allow you to charge 12 items at one time, but only 6 outlets would be protected against power surges. I would recommend item number 764397 as this product has 7 outlets that are protected against surges. If would like to place an order for this item, please contact us at 1-800-333-3330. Q: Received the 12 outlet unit but lost instructions for its use. Are instructions available online? Asked on 11/2/2010 by Bruce from Oshkosh Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer Q: I am wondering what the 4350 joules means. I am not an electrician so I am curious. Also, would is this surge protector better than the ones that come on a battery backup. We are currently using 900v battery backups and spending alot of money on them. Would this item be better for surge protection except for the battery life on a backup. Asked on 3/3/2010 by JP from Weatherford, TX Know the answer? Answered on 2/8/2010 by Customer Care from Staples A: The answer is no – if you have either of the two “green-power” surges (SKUs 764398 and 764402), there is no way to turn off the Master/Controlled outlet functionality and have all outlets “always on”. If you need a surge with more open outlets that are “always on”, you will have to buy one of the other NON-“green power” Staples-brand models in the lineup, without the Master/Controlled outlet functionality. (The two g.p. SKUs are really intended to be used in an application where the customer would be taking advantage of this feature: such as in a computer setup, where the CPU is plugged into the Master outlet and other devices such as hard drive, monitor, printer, desk lamp, etc. are in the Controlled By Master outlets – so when the computer is powered-off, those other ‘peripheral’ devices get automatically shut off as well.) Q: This Surge Protector has Coax Protection. Coax comes in several different types, such as RG-6/U, RG-6/UQ, which have an impedance of 75 ohms and are used for both cable and satellite television. Other types of coax such as RG-60/U has an impedance of 50 ohms and is used for high definition cable television. In order to minimize signal loss, all of the components of a coaxial system should have the same impedance. This will reduce internal reflections at connections between components. Since this surge protector will now become a part of this coaxial system, it too must match the impedance of all of the other components. My question is obviously, what is the impedance of this surge protector? Asked on 12/11/2009 by garson from Rural Oregon Know the answer? Q: My surge protector may have shorted out or something. It is making a high pitched noise and the light that light up above the plugs are out. Is there something I can do to correct this. Asked on 10/2/2009 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: REPLACE the surge protector! You have suffered a surge and it is no longer protecting your equipment. Answered on 10/10/2009 by Pinecone Seller from East Texas A: Check your surge protector for a reset button, if you have one it will be seperate than the power switch. Try that and see if that helps. If not I wouldn't chance it & simply replace the surge protector. Answered on 10/30/2009 by Tim from Upstate, SC A: Only guessing - Sounds like the Surge Protector took a hit instead of your equipment. I'd contact Tech Support and see if the system has any sort of reset. If not... maybe you saved yourself a motherboard or hard drive. Answered on 11/24/2009 by Bucks Artist from Holland, PA
