Q: I've had my shredder about a week. I had a jam, cleared it, the machine turns on but won't let paper feed through. I was told it's because there is a plastic tab missing from the receptacle it sits on, the plastic 'bucket' and that I should cut the cord, send in the label with model and serial # and get a replacement sent. I never saw a plastic tab and that explanation seems very odd. Is there some kind of 'reset' process I should know? Does the on/off switch under the machine matter and what is its purpose? Q: I just purchased this item three days ago, and used it once. I was very happy with its performance and then the "overheat" light came on. I went on to do other things thinking it would reset in a few minutes. That was two days ago. The light is still on and the unit does not work.
