Q: For this product and the other various ethernet cables you sell (CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, Crossover, etc…), are these cables STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) or UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair)? I'm just hoping that for the price I'm paying for these cables that they are STP or with good quality that a vendor like Staples would stand behind providing. Asked on 10/30/2011 by Tsuimonster from Englishtown, NJ Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: I cannot say specifically with regard to Staples-brand products, but as far as I know, most Ethernet cables sold on the retail market are, more likely than not, UTP. (Furthermore, according to Wikipedia if you use STP cable you have to ground it properly.) If the cable is STP, then I would expect the product description to say so. Answered on 6/18/2012 by Jonathan from Washington, D.C. A: This CAT5e cable does come with a lifetime garantee, and can be exchanged for another or comparible product.
