Quality Product with Plenty of Power

Quality product with plenty of power. Runs a little noisy compared with smaller units. Much of this noise is coming from the plastic bin. It would be nice if the bin capacity was increased (cuts off with lots of space left). Another design consideration would be to create a better way to attach bags in the bin.

Wasn't worth the effort of purchasing

After using a cheap shredder for 5 years I needed a replacement. This one looked promising with the 18 page capacity, large basket, anti jam, and overheat function. After 9 days, the shredder would no long function. The anti jam light stayed on and it would only run in reverse. I called and was told you can't shred envelopes because of the glue. Nowhere in the user manual did it say that. Gee, the cheap one was able to shred envelopes for 5 years? It was returned.

Comments about Staples® 18-Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder:

I could live with slow shredding and I can tolerate casters that don't swivel and turn, but to not be able to rapidly stuff some paper in the input slot and have the unit grab it a start shredding makes this product exceedingly frustrating. Any other aspect of this product that is well engineered is totally lost. Don't buy it.
