These are excellent wood pencils. Packaged in a manageable package and ready to send right to school. These yellow pencils sharpen easily and don't have that plastic coating that peals off of so many pencils now. These pencils have solid core graphite centers that sharpen to a nice point and are long lasting. If you are sending them to school with your child I would suggest that you add some type of personalization....possibly a colored stripe or the child's initials would make it easier for your child to keep track of their own pencil.

The graphite was off center on many pencils, leading to a wooden "hood" overshadowing the pencil lead. Regular school-grade pencil sharpeners shredded the tips, but I was able to get a point with a precision sharpener in the end. Spend more money on quality pencils or you'll be spending more on quality sharpeners.

                So many of the pencils you buy today are not #2 and you have a hard time seeing the words writen on the paper. They also do not sharpen to a point, you end up grinding the whole pencil down to nothing.
