Good Choice in its Price Class

I ended up choosing this one after looking at the other Staples and Fellows models.

This one looks bigger than the Fellows but the but the top of the Bin is only about 60% of the whole shredder. So it holds less than it looks.

Noise wise It was next to the "quiet" micro cut in the store not that much difference in noise and does 6 more sheets.

My last 15 sheet shreeder would "moan" on thick junk mail.. this one chewed it down with no problem. And has smaller confetti. Stuff that is almost too thick for the slot it shreads just fine.. not sure what it would take to trigger the special pre jam alert.

BTW the pause after inserting paper is about 1/2 second.. not three seconds as I had read.

Blue backlit buttons are hard to push..
Bin is small and hard to fit a bag into..

But it shreads lots of paper with ease.. better bin and it would have 5 stars.

The Bin glows blue when shredding..which is cool but I think the chrome on top looks cheap.. liked the look of the cheaper non-chrome shreder but didn't want a shredder that had problems if a paper clip sneaks in.

I am happy with my choice

For 30 buck I bought the 2 year instant replacement warranty as my last shredder dies suddenly when the two plastic spacers snapped after 3 years.. I need this one to last that long I have boxs of old bills in the garage.

I've had this unit for about a month now. Very happy with the performance in comparison to my last shredder. Plenty of power and easy to empty, the shredded size is small enough to allow plenty of shredding before you have to empty the bin. I would recommend to anyone looking for a medium duty shredder.

Like all shredders, it becomes difficult if you let your shredding accumulate because of the short run/long cool down cycle, but since it is noisy, it becomes necessary to let the shredding wait.
