Though this is the first time I am using the Staples DVD-RW discs, I have been using the CDRW media for several years and find it very feliable.

I use the DVD media with my stanalone DVD Recorder, which supports all of the DVD media types. I have been using Sony, Memorex, and Imation DVD+RW media with equal reliability.

I wanted to try the DVD-RW media this time. I have only formatted one disc in the DVD Recorder, but find it does setup a little faster. Though both the DVD+RW and DVD-RW are rewritable, I find one fundlemental difference between the two media types. With the DVD-RW Media you are unable to Finalize the disc thus creating the DVD Menu without loosing the ability to add more video to the disc. This is fine if you do not care about playing a partially recorded DVD-RW on other DVD Players. In this respect it is similar to DVD-R and DVD+R media.

I will be using the DVD+RW media more because I like being able to Create the Top disc menu after recording each track, which allows me to play the disc in any DVD Player.
