Worked only short time, downloaded bad

If this switch had only done what it was supposed to, it would have been ideal for what I need: to connect two computers to one printer. However, it only worked for 2 ...Read complete review

If this switch had only done what it was supposed to, it would have been ideal for what I need: to connect two computers to one printer. However, it only worked for 2 days then it stopped connecting for one computer. The next day, it stopped connecting for the other computer. The usage was not constant; it was just for one project. I'd hoped to do more but had to disconnect it from my main computer in order to use the printer. When can get to Staples next, I will return the switch.

The software does not switch. I manually plug and unplug to get the printer working for different computers. Product was overpriced for the use.

I used a Belkins switch before for my printer sharing and this is better. The software is a beeeze to install and the status icon sits in the tray of each computer to switch the device back and forth. No problems at all and for a very reasonable price.

Did not include a setup cd and would not work. 2nd time around with a cd it calls for computer switching to print. A real pain.

We tried 2 of them. Neither one worked on both sides. We have to switch the cords everytime we use from a different computer.

Q:
I have a 2x1 usb peripheral switch connected to a dell computer with windows 7 and a dell computer with winows xp pro. The computer with windows 7 prints but the computer with windows xp does not recognize the device and will not print. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Q:
I have a MACOS and installed the software as per disc. A green prompt appears for the computer accessing the printer and a red prompt appears for the other computer. To change to the other computer for printing purposes an F key prompt is required. I have forgotten the F prompt needed. Does anyone know what prompt is needed to switch back and forth?

  Simply push the selection button to toggle between computers.
  F11 In Internet Explorer this key will allow you to toggle between full screen viewing mode and normal viewing mode.
  F12 usually located at the upper right hand corner of your keyboard next to the Scroll Lock and Pause/Break keys. Often abbreviated PrtScr, the Print Screen key is a useful key supported on most PCs. In DOS, pressing the Print Screen key causes the computer to send whatever images and text are currently on the display screen to the printer. Some graphics programs and Windows, use the Print Screen key to obtain Screen Captures.

I purchased the product Open Item so no manual or install CD was included. Could I get digital copies of these so that I can actually use the switch? The link I saw in another question gave me a driver, but it doesn't seem to install properly. I start installing the driver and a page comes up showing the device and then disappears. It doesn't appear to complete installation.

I have this 2x1 USB Peripheral Switch device connected to a Dell PC with Windows 7 and a HP PC with Windows XP. We need to share an 8GB Passport external hard drive. The switch is working with a small 1.0GB USB drive but it will not recognize the Passport drive?

Q:
One computer has XP and it works fine. The other computer has windows 7 with a os 64 bit system. With both plug in only XP works. If i switch leads 7 works and XP port does not. It says printer offline each time. Only one port is lit up and it is always the same port.

Q:
I installed this on two desktop computers, both running windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. One of the computers has no problem with it, the other one says it doesn't recognize the USB device and says there is an error (I think error 43)? This is driving me nuts...any suggestions? I would really like to be able to print.
