It's a simple laser pointer not much to say here. A big "Pro" for this device was that it uses AAA batteries, no worrying about finding those little watch batteries for replacements. It's dot is bright and batteries seem to last quite a while under normal office presentation use.

For home use with the cats, this is the one I would get again if necessary. I also got the one $10 more with greater range and they are nearly identical when used for short range (less than 100 feet).

Works well! Love that it doesn't use those little batteries that seem to cost more than the lasers that use them. Now it can use rechargeable or regular easy to find batteries.

Some people ask about the specs on these, so I will address them from the insert that came with the item:
640-660nM wavelength in a class IIIa output (less than 5 mW) which is the same as the higher priced item, but not the same range.

I purchased this more as a novelty than expecting to use it for a presentation. It does that and clips to the shirt pocket as well.

  I have a slide advancing remote for PowerPoint (and some other presentation programs like ProPresenter) which has buttons on it for forward and reverse arrows. This product is just a light. So, no, it will not advance slides unless you have a light activated slide advancer you can zap with it (I do not think they exist) :-)
