My monitor was going on the fritz and I needed a regular monitor cable to troubleshoot the problem. The cable worked fine and let me know it was a monitor problem, not my video card or computer. The fix was not as expensive (new monitor) as getting the defective one tested and repaired by the manufacturer.

I don;t know if it was the product or my boyfriend's monitor and my laptop as connection points, but it showed my computer's screen on his monitor for a minute and then only gave me a no connection found blue box on his monitor, and then I couldn't get it to work. Luckily, I made my laptop work by slapping the screen and moving it around a little bit, but then, my laptop is three years old...

I was advised to buy this cable to connect my flat-screen monitor to my new computer. The connection was poor and the monitor wouldn't work properly. Many hours of wasted time with tech support. Ultimately, the problem was that the cable wasn't up for the task. New cable and everything worked. I mean...how complicated can a cable be???

  As long as both your computer, and your monitor have 15 pin VGA connectors on them, then this cable will work with Windows Vista Home Premium. A VGA monitor connection works independently of the type of operating system installed.
