Q: How do you connect the hub to the computer? Do I have to buy a mini (like camera) adapter that has a USB to the back of my computer? Asked on 12/29/2012 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: No, you will not need to purchase any additional USB cords. The 7-port USB hub will come with the appropriate cord to hook it up with your computer. This product features plug-and-play, meaning, as soon as you plug it into your computer, it will download the correct driver and you will be able to use it immediately. Q: The product comes with an external powers supply receptical but no power supply. The specs on the unit also call for a 5.0 Volt DC, 3.6 Amp power input. If the unit is really drawing 3.6 Amps (Which is probably a translation error) it would be a large drain on a laptop battery. Can someone explain if the use of an external power supply is necessary. Asked on 7/14/2012 by Hemiforever from C'ville, PA Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: For low-power USB devices an external power supply is not needed, as the computer is capable of supplying enough current, but for devices that need more than 500 mA, which is the maximum current a port can supply, an external power supply is required. If an external power supply is used, the maximum current for any port is 1.8 A, and a power supply rated for 3.6 A can safely power two very high drain devices or several other high power devices. Q: I have lost my instructions. The hub came with an electric adapter; however, it works fine without it. What is the adapter for? Asked on 11/5/2010 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: The adapter is for when you use a laptop or notebook without it being plugged in to an electrical outlet,it dosen't use up all the power from the laptop or notebook. It will still work using the electric thur the laptop, notebook or straight from the PC. Answered on 11/28/2010 by Beast from Scranton, PA A: Each device connected requires power. If the total exceeds what the computer can supply then an external power supply (adapter)can be plugged in to provide this. An error message usually is displayed on the monitor if the power demand is too much. Suggest you plug the power cube in a power outlet and the hub and leave it that way to avoid any problem of a device lacking adequate power during use.
