NOT ANOTHER EYE SORE RECTANGULAR BOX BUT RATHER STYLISH AND COMPACT CONSIDERING IT HAS EIGHT PLUG CONNECTORS. ONE GOOD FEATURE I LIKED IS THAT IT REMINDS YOU THAT A PLUG IS NOT GROUNDED PROPERLY AND THEREFORE NOT SURGE PROTECTED WITH AN ADDITIONAL GREEN LIGHT INDICATOR. IN MY CASE THIS WAS SO AND ONCE I REWIRED THE PLUG ALL WAS GOOD(NOT TO MENTION I FORGOT TO DO THIS SOME YEARS AGO). AS FAR AS SURGE PROTECTION EFFICIENCY, NO ONE REALLY KNOWS UNTIL AFTER A BIG ONE. PRICE WAS COMPETITIVE AND REASONABLE FOR THE FEATURES.

This multi-outlet has been the best one I have ever bought. It fits all my computer plugs perfectly. It accommodates
the different size plugs and stores neatly behind the furniture. The flat and angled plug has also been designed perfectly.

These products were recommended by a tech advisor employed at Staples. He analyzed our electronic device needs and helped us with our decision to protect our valued appliances. At the same time, he repaired and improved our internet capability. He was helpful in advising us of ways to prevent actions which could be harmful to our computers, phone and television. He was most courteous and attentive as well as skilled. We feel confident that if we run into any problems with our communication units in the future he will be there to help. Comments about Staples 8-Outlet 3450 Joule Surge Protector with Dataline Protection:

After doing some research I thought this protector was the best for the money. It has a decent Joule rating and a better clamping voltage than a lot of the competition. Even though I'm not positive what that is... 400 or less is supposedly better and this is less than 400. I'll agree with others it takes a pretty good push to get the plugs in, but better tight than loose. I also needed the 4 AC adapter blocks. Some others only had two or three. So far no complaints, hope it works if needed!

We went shopping for a computer and picked up this surge protector so we would have everything new with our setup seems to be working and doing its job. I dont even notice it since it is under the desk. It has a sleek design and enough plugs for everything.

I wanted to get a surge protector for our company kitchen. We plug in a microwave, a toaster, a toaster oven, coffee grinder and a device which heats up water. Will this be able to handle all devices in use at once?

            • Q:

What type of end plug does the surge protector have on the end of the cord? If it is three prong grounded I think it should be listed in the specifications so people will know. I believe all extension cords and other electrical plugs now have to be three prong grounded per code if I am not mistaken. It may help people since they need a three prong grounded receptacle outlet to plug the surge protector into. Also I understand that it is not a good idea to use a two prong male/three prong female adapter with this surge protector as it may compromise the effectiveness of the surge protector and in turn fail to protect equipment so anyone with receptacle oultets that are two prongs will have to change them over to three prong grounded. Also I read it is very rare of surge into a home but you never know.

If I ma not mistaken, doesn't the DSL line use the same type of wire as a telephone line? Therefore, this should work. However, this product does not have a port for an ethernet cable that ou would have for a cable modem.

I bought this staples 8 outlet 3450 Joule surge protector. The two green led lights are on which is supposed to indicate normal operation and full surge protection. However, I am curious that the red on/off switch does not light up when the unit is turned on. It certainly appears that this switch is an led switch and all the other surge protectors I have ever owned the switch lit up when the power was on. Is mine defective for not liting up? Was it designed to lit up?

The power switch does not light up on my unit either. I don't think it was designed to light up. The surge indicators are only lit when the power is on so they serve as your power-on indication.
