Trying to furnish a home office and start a new business on a shoe string budget did not stop me from hoping to find high quality pieces that were functional and nice to look at. In addition to the large and small desks, I also bought the mobile file cart. Wish that I had found these while the lateral file was still available. None of the Apothecary pieces are on display at my local Staples, so I had to rely solely on the reviews to make a decision. But, after a long and fruitless search for real solid wood furniture that I could comfortably afford, the clearance prices were too good to pass up. I am so pleased with the entire experience. [...] There were slight blemishes on each of the three pieces but not anything that takes away from their beauty or integrity of structure. Assembly of the large desk does actually require two people but I was able to put the small desk and mobile cart together completely alone. Long and frustrating at times, overall, the process is well worth the end result of having a work space that is sturdy and functional yet pleasant to sit at. I absolutely love my L-shaped desk and have already recommended it to family and friends. I looked everywhere online and in person and never found anything that approached this caliber at such a great price.

The front panel was warped an inch in the center. The locking cam hardware cracked when I attempted to tighten. Not what I have come to expect from Staples!

This desk far exceeded my expectations! It's very sturdy and looks absolutely elegant. Took less than an hour to assemble. Two people are required to attach the top to the base, but other than that, it's a one person job. The only tools required are an allen wrench (included) and a screwdriver. I used a power screwdriver to insert the cam screws and a regular screwdriver to lock the cams. The only con is that the other components (keyboard tray, mobile file, lateral file) are no longer available; but for [$]bucks, who can complain? I placed a mobile file cart and a set of Sterlite drawers under the desk to make-up for the drawers and files that are no longer available. I know this sounds tacky, but my desk faces the entry to my home office ... so no one can see my non-matching accessories. My home office is my formal living room, so it's the first room family and friends see when they enter my home. No one will know about my non-matching accessories unless they're snooping behind my desk. LOL
