Don't the clearance price fool you - this thing is heavy - I had to carry the desk upstairs in pieces. Design is quite attractive. Takes a while to assemble. Has a solid feel to it.

When you open the box, it doesn't look that bad- but there's a lot to assemble. It became a very frustrating project when the screws didn't line up. (maybe the wood was already warped?) I didn't want to waste my time and energy returning this product (because the box was really heavy). Although the price was good, the time and frustration was NOT worth it.

They were clearance for less than $200 for both.
Unbelievable deal. These desk are solid and extremely nice. Best purchase I have made in a while.

I purchased the large desk first and loved it so much that I ordered this desk the next day. As was the case with the large desk, this desk is sturdy and gorgeous! The assembly directions were poor, making the desk very difficult to assemble ... but for [$], I really can't complain. Another con is that because the desk is on clearance, the accessories (e.g., lateral file, mobile file, etc.) are no longer available. I purchased a black 2-drawer file cabinet to go under the desk and, believe it or not, it doesn't look tacky. The Sauder cherry bookcase (item #482969) is almost a perfect match for this desk. I placed the desk on one wall and the bookcase on the opposite wall, and no one (but me) can tell they're not a part of the same suite. If the two items were placed right next to each other, you'd be able to detect the slight difference in color ... (Well, a picky, detailed person like me would!)
