Not really much better than the cheaper one. With time it crumbles, cracks, disintegrates. Chemical cleaners of any kind make it turn brittle and fall apart.

It's too soon to tell how they will last, but I knew they weren't the highest quality so I didn't expect a lot. For my craft room, they should be ok although getting them flattened enough is seeming impossible. Tried heat, heavy items, etc. and still very contorted. They seem like they might wear grooves in them pretty easily, but I have only used them a few days. Thickness is probably the issue and buying the next priced up mats would be advisable if you want them to last.

The dimensions are good for home use: desk and computer. The thickness could be increased to avoid slight sinking under the wheels when stationary, even on a Berber. These indentations, however, do return to their original shape when the chair is moved. So far, this is the best product I've found for this purpose. The beveled edges are particularly important to me for sliding on and off when a larger area for chair movement is occasionally needed. [...]
