I bought this for our computer desk. It gives off plenty of light without being blinding.

The only drawback is the power cord is too short. An extension cord is needed.

Bought this at Staples and expected longevity. Not happening. 'Bulb' died last week; replaced with new bulb but still no function. Tested old bulb continuity - ok; tested old bulb continuity - ok. So bulb is NOT dead. So, then pulled apart to figure out puzzle. Tested incoming powercord - 135V - check. Tested 2A fuse - continuity; Tested on/off switch continuity when on/off - ok both ways. Tested bypassed fuse connects - output to bulb - NO! Tested for 12V AC or DC output from transformer leads - NOTHING. Dead transformer. This type of transformer should last FOREVER. So, avoid this product
