I need a lamp that attaches to the top shelf of my desk-hutch over my computer and desktop area. I had a pretty nice one with a long jointed arm, but the attachment mechanism was never 100% stable, and it actually fell down a couple of times, luckily not onto my open laptop. It finally broke. This little guy is much simpler, with a not very long bendable gooseneck and a big tough clip-on attacher which so far seems far more stable than my old one. It was cheap but well rated so I tried it and I'm VERY happy.

Very useful for multiple situations with the clamp-on function. High quality construction, very durable. It would be nice if it would accept a higher wattage bulb, however for the price that would be asking a bit too much.

this light is for a dorm room and was purchsed for this purpose as a clip on and is great for top bunk light seems that it might not stand the dorm room riggors time will tell
