Front face panel was too short, called company and they sent a new one. However that one was just as short and it was the wrong color. Unless you point it out, you do not notice the 1/2"inch gap. I'm suprised it was short because we own another same model shelf and there is no problem with it.

This a total waste of money. It is not made well at all. Someone else retuned it and the parts were all over the box. We should have been smart enough to return it too! But we did not. Two of the side pieces are damaged and this is in a room where no one will see it. It certainly wouldn't be in my living room.
Skip the 5 bonus points I won't be buying from Staples any time soon. The picture in the ad is very nice piece of furniture, but once you open the box, surprise, surprise.

My husband and I are VERY satisfied with this purchase. We ordered three bookcases for our living room. The set up was very easy, especially if you follow the manual's instructions. One person can assemble it, but having two people certainly helps. Screwdriver and hammer is all we needed. None of the pieces were missing, and fortunately none were damaged either.

While we were assembling the bookcases, we did notice that the construction is not made of solid wood, however we already expected this, so it was not a surprise. The back is cardboard. If the situation should arise that damage occurs to it, we can replace it with a sturdier backing, however the three bookcases are holding up really well.

Once set up, they look gorgeous in our living room, it blends really well with the rest of our furniture, and they have the height we desired. We have many books and so far the shelves hold very well, so they not only look sturdy but they are also doing their function perfectly.

The only complaint is the extra care it requires in order to avoid scratching the surface of the shelves, as this can be very noticeable.

This said, I love the style. Since we still have additional books to put up, we will be ordering another one soon.

I am very happy with this purchase.
