Sturdy and convenient

I shopped around looking at several different plywood and plastic designs that might suite the need for not placing the laptop on a sofa or lap surface where the fan could not get enough volume to cool the CPU and other internals. This product provided a good compromise to look good and be comfortable to boot. The only real complaint is that the adhesive velcro fasteners that are on the bottom of the board and then stapled are not done well and the pad that they fasten to will pull them off the desktop when you remove the pad to wash it or make the desktop less thick. The idea of what they were doing is right, but the execution was not. If you mechanicaly inclined it's an easy fix... but why need to fix a new product?

I use my laptop to do homework. I can now sit in the livingroom with my husband and do homework. It is very comfortable to have on my lap. The major drawback is the velcro does not stay together as it should

I like this lapdesk because it is big enough to hold a laptop and have room for a mouse on the side. The velcro fasteners for the pillow on the bottom side are not well glued to the desk, and removing the pillow the first time pulled one of them off. QA of the product was not very good.
I would recommend only if you have some extra super glue at home.

Not comfortable at all

I'm not sure this was meant as a lap desk for a notebook computer or not, but I now realize it's not very good for that use at all.

I bought two of these, one for myself and one for my wife to use for our notebook computers. I'm returning them both. The cushion on the bottom is wide, but not deep enough. The back edge of the board rides directly on my knees, and there's no padding there at all. The pad is held in place with hook and loop fasteners, and I thought that was cool, I could move it farther up, but alas, there's no adjustment to it, it only has a single placement option.

To make this better, either pad the entire underside, or make it movable front to back. Also, put more stryo beads in the thing, it could easily use twice as many as are in there now.

Also, the surface isn't too good for laptops. A wrist pad would be welcome, as well as a slip proof surface. Using a mouse on this causes it to slide off constantly.

This is a great lap desk (for paying bills, reading oversize books, etc) but I primarily purchased it to use with my laptop PC. My laptop is about 16" wide which leaves a 6" x 16" area of side space available for my wireless mouse and a note pad or day planner. Perfect for working on the sofa while watching TV. It's called multi-tasking... lol :-)

I also liked the Belkin CushPad which includes a useful storage slot, but due to the CushPad's smaller size there's not enough surface area for anything but the laptop itself.
