Product is actually DVI-A to VGA

I bought this adapter, but after using it I discovered it has in fact DVI-A to VGA pin-outs. Using the correct DVI cable is very important, as analog and digital signals (and related equipment, of course) can both fall in the "DVI" category. Pin-outs of connectors determine the exact type. DVI-D = Digital only. DVI-A = Analog only. DVI-I = Digital & Analog, and turns out to be what I need! I've done the learning for you! and hope for a refund. This adapter is named incorrectly, which has been a nuisance for me, but I gave it 4 stars anyway, as it is a quality product despite the labeling issue.

Works just as it should, however, seems like the [$] price tag is extreme for something that you get for free with a $99 monitor.[...]

After my Desk top was damaged by an electrical surge and knocked out the Video card on the Mother-Board, I purchased a used video/graphics plug-in card, but it had HPMI connections. By purchasing the HDMI to AVG adaptor, I was able to use the card I had bought and it worked quite nicely.

  With the Mac Mini there should have been a HDMI to DVI Adapter. You can use the DVI adapter with this DVI-I to VGA Adapter.

Q:
Okay here is what I am trying to set up:
XBox360 VGA Cable into some type of converter so I can hook that into the back of my monitor. My monitor only allows HDMI and DVI-D to be plugged into its back for video connection. Will this product take the VGA signal from my xbox, convert it into a dvi-d signal and will this product be able to plug into the dvi-d port on the back of my monitor?

So I need a VGA Female to DVI-D Male Converter.
I looked some stuff up and from what I can understand DVI-I can handle a DVI-D and plug in without worries.'

I tried a vga to dvi-a, but obviously it didn't work...

Help please!

Q:
I recently purchased a HP 2210m monitor. The monitor is wide screen with full hd 1920x1080 60 hz resolution. The monitor came with a white cable attached to the back of the monitor. My pc is 6 years old. I was not able to connect the white cable to my pc because, I dont have a connection for it on my pc. I had to connect the vga cable that came un-attached to the monitor, and then to the pc. And I also had to connect the audio cable. The monitor is now giving me a good resolution, but it is not hd. I know little about adapters, and if the adapter in question would be able to somehow give me a dvi hd connection?
