The add claims it can shred 550 pages drop-in, with staples or paper clips. It does neither of those things. At best it will shred 6 pages drop in. The rest have to be piled up neatly in the center of the bin. We tried 1/2 ream of letter sized paper and it took over 45 minutes to shred, jamming twice for staples. We shred large volumes of checks and it can't handle this size of paper very vell. They have to be stacked neatly in the center of the bin and no more than 100 checks at a time (again, definitely no staples or clips) and it still took the better part of 20 minutes to shred, but kept jamming. Although it is advertised as a continuous on shredder, you have to stop every 30 minutes and run a shredder lubricant sheet thru it or it will stop for maintenance.

This shredder is way too expensive for what it does, or doesn't do.

My company uses this for high volume shredding of confidential documents. It is mainly used in the Accounting Department. We have put in 550 pages in the bin and were able to walk away after starting it. Of course, there is occasional jamming but that can be expected with any shredder. It has made all of our jobs easier as we dont have to stand at the shredder and feed the stack of papers into the shredder. The name says it all "drop & go". The CFO especially loves it because he doesn't have take time from his busy day to stand at the shredder, shredding documents. The lock feature is especially great because it allows us to lock the cover if we are shredding documents with social security numbers or bank account numbers. I would definately recommend this to other companies that handle confidential and sensitive information. It may be more expensive than other shredders but when you consider the cost of having to stand at the shredder feeding the papers in, it definately pays for itself. Because as the saying goes, time is money and in the business world today, there never seems to be enough time to get what needs to be done, done.

Great for doing large shredding jobs -- a little on the slow side but the cross shredding ensures security -- NO ONE will be able to read your shredded documents.

We've had this thing for less than a month and it has given us nothing but trouble. For the price we could put personal shredders in everyone's office that would actually work. It barely shreds paper let along all the other items it claims to. The company is coming to pick it up and refund our money.
