Dispenser Doesn't Allow Tension on Tape

The main issue with this product is not the tape, but the dispenser...on most small dispensers you can squeeze the sides to keep the tape from rolling and allowing you to stretch the tape tightly when sealing a box. This dispenser doesn't allow you to squeeze it, so tape goes on rather loosely. Otherwise a decent product.

I use this item daily for sealing my Ebay boxes and bubble bags. It is quiet to use and sturdy enough to hold the boxes shut, even fully packed boxes. It's also thick enough to tear where it's supposed to tear. I love the way the dispenser keeps it from sticking back to itself. That's a definite plus because it saves so much time and frustration. I also like the idea of buying refills at a cheaper price than buying 2 dispensers. That saves space in our landfills too. Thanks to Staples for this great product!

The original dispenser, with tape already loaded, worked beautifully. It's the best I've used.

The refill, however, stuck to the dispenser after the tape is torn off. I tried inserting the tape in both directions, but neither worked.

I'm planning on returning the refills for a full refund.
