Very Durable and easy to work with

I had seen this product in use in the office environment; I needed something to secure wires for Christmas decorations that crossed the sidewalk to avoid a trip hazard. I went to Staples and with the assistance of the sales person I was able to locate the very product I was looking for. I was able to easily cut this to size, I secured it with stakes used to secure exterior decorations. Overall it worked well. One caution; remember it is in place so you don't pull it up if using a snow blower, that could lead to severe damage and possible personal injury.

Just won't lay flat!

I needed to temporarily reroute a CAT6 line through a high traffic area in our home. This cable protector seemed to be just what I needed. Unfortunately, it comes rolled up into a very tight spiral and stuffed into a small box, which is a BIG PROBLEM since it needs to lay flat on the floor! I guess they want to save on packaging/transportation costs and don't care about how the end user will ever get this stuff to lay flat. I tried rolling it out flat and putting heavy stuff on top of it, which helped a little. In the end I had to run the cable through it, tape the entire underside with duct tape to keep the cable inside, then lay a carpet alongside it to keep it flat. Hopefully someday they will change the packaging to a long, flat box.

Item well constructed, however, even though plenty of tape was applied, the item did not stay stuck to the floor. Ended up using a chair mat to cover the area instead.

Needed to keep an ethernet cable safe in a traffic area. This product is easy to use, but won't be stable unless you use the double stick tape to hold the concealer in place. I'm worried about putting the tape on my tile floor.

Cord concealer was coiled in the box. It served the purpose but was difficult to straighten out to put on the floor.
Works best on hard floor surfaces. NOT for carpeted floors.

Q:
I have an unusual use for this product and would like to know if it would work. My heating oil company insists that I install my oil line on the top of the concrete floor in my FINISHED basement. Curently it is beneath the concrete. My oil tank is about 20' from my furnace. In order to lay the oil line on top of the floor and to the furnace, it must lay it on top of a pathway of ceramic tile. The oil line itself is encased in plastic and is about 1/2" in diameter - it is also very stiff. Will it go thru the hole in the cord connector and is the cord connector hard enough to protect the oil line from damage - light traffic, but daily as it is a living quarters?

  The Staples Floor Cable Concealer can hold up to 3/4" thick cables, and is meant for cables such as computer or telepone lines that plug into a wall. I apologize, I am not sure if this product would be up to standard for your needs. Perhaps you should consult your heating oil company on the type of concealer that would be up to standard or code.

  Unfortunately the height isn't known because you are supposed to unroll the concealer and keep it flat by placing books or a heavy object on it overnight before using it. Depending on how flat it gets overnight, that will determine if it will prevent a door from opening or closing.

  Unfortunately, we do not have anythign to connect these. These are somewhat heavy and with the cables in there, putting two ends together should be fine. They really shouldn't move. In addition, it includes doubled-sided adhesive tape if you want to use on the bottom.
