Very Durable and easy to work with

I had seen this product in use in the office environment; I needed something to secure wires for Christmas decorations that crossed the sidewalk to avoid a trip hazard. I went to Staples and with the assistance of the sales person I was able to locate the very product I was looking for. I was able to easily cut this to size, I secured it with stakes used to secure exterior decorations. Overall it worked well. One caution; remember it is in place so you don't pull it up if using a snow blower, that could lead to severe damage and possible personal injury.

Just won't lay flat!

I needed to temporarily reroute a CAT6 line through a high traffic area in our home. This cable protector seemed to be just what I needed. Unfortunately, it comes rolled up into a very tight spiral and stuffed into a small box, which is a BIG PROBLEM since it needs to lay flat on the floor! I guess they want to save on packaging/transportation costs and don't care about how the end user will ever get this stuff to lay flat. I tried rolling it out flat and putting heavy stuff on top of it, which helped a little. In the end I had to run the cable through it, tape the entire underside with duct tape to keep the cable inside, then lay a carpet alongside it to keep it flat. Hopefully someday they will change the packaging to a long, flat box.

            It has to be stretched out in the sun for a couple of days to get the curl out of the cover. Double sided tape will not cover the entire length of the cover. Other than that it is a cable cover and keeps the loose cables across the floor from a trip hazard, protects fragile cables, and looks much better than taped. Didn't have time to shop around but this cover didn't seem to be a good value getting only 6' for the $

            This item got me out of trouble with the Safety Committee by safely concealing power and network cables. The wire channels are a bit too small for cables that are already terminated. I overcame this by slitting the side channels on the backside, installing the cables (power, network and phone) and then sealing it back with a piece of duct tape before I secured the device to the floor. For me, it was a good low cost, quick solution in a low traffic area.
