I was looking for a portable desk to put my Samsung 23" all-in-one computer on, and use it as a desk that can also double as a portable monitor to watch TV on the same all-in-one computer. My computer weighs about 20 pounds and its footprint is about 21.5" X 8", so it's well within the recommended size and weight limits. However, even with this relatively light, top-heavy load, the desk is still a bit wobbly - this desk isn't very sturdy. I don't have a printer or anything other than a keyboard and mouse, so I set my foot on the bottom shelf. The weight of my foot resting (not stepping) on the shelf bent it. My 20 pound computer is starting to bow the glass surface (there is no way this surface could take something heavy in the middle only). The tray for the keyboard and mouse is quite sturdy and is very suitable for that function, even as I rest my hands on the keyboard shelf to type. The cart is top-unsteady when wheeling around the room, but if you go slow, it does okay and is acceptable for moving around the room. (I move the desk to / away from my favrorite sitting chair and it is acceptable for that purpose.)

There were NO extra parts during assembly. The instructions had adaquate sized pictures, but NO text instructions. The machine bolts were easy to install and included a flimsy wrench / allen wrench to adjust. The sheet metal screws not only were flimsy, but the kit did not include a screw driver.

TIP: Pre-thread or work in all screws and bolts part way before assembling with the actual part. Follow the tip of starting all the bolts before tightening any of them down.

Overall: The bottom metal plate (shelf) is way too flimsy to hold any serious weight and has little to no support across the middle. The cross metal bars across the back are flimsy and cause the overall structure to have little lateral support. The glass top is adaquate as long as your weight distribution is broad across the top. The wheels are cheap plastic, but have good metal stud support. The sliding desk drawer is is very well constructed - but is attached with cheap sheet metal screws.

Take the recommended maximum weights and divide that value by 2 or 3 and that would be a better limit on this desk, especially if you plan to wheel it around.

For the price, it's cheap and adaquate and since it's made of metal and glass, it doesn't look like plastic garbage (A plus: the look is decent and stylish). Promise: for lasting sturdiness, an average kid would break this desk in a week. (I would NOT recommend this desk for use by kids.) It's something that needs to be handled carefully, then it might last.

What more can I say? I wasn't happy that the bottom shelf EASILY bent just by putting my foot on it as a rest. Other than that, it's been functional for my own needs. Your mileage may vary.

This desk is great!!!! It took about an hour to set up (that may be just about my only con) but I did it alone (Pro). Its sturdy and I love that its movable. I wheel it around from room to room. I wheel it up to the couch and wheel it back in a corner when Im done. The keyboard shelf is movable in and out and I use it for everything. I put my laptop on the glass top and Ipad and Iphone and all my other electronic gizmos go on the keyboard shelf. The bottom shelf is for my new HP Pro 8600 deskjet computer. Its perfect!! and I love it so much I'm ordering another one since I need to keep the printer stationary but I dont want to give up the portability of the desk!!! LOL

I actually spotted this computer desk in the entrance lobby of my Staples store as I was leaving the store. It caught my eye and I noticed the sale price. However, I went on out to my car to go home. Just before I started my car I thought to myself, "that sure does seem like an awfully low price for that computer desk, wonder if it's damaged?" My curiosity got the best of me and I decided to go back and investigate. I did indeed go back to look the computer desk over. To my surprise it was not a damaged item. Only the box was a little tattered and dusty. Otherwise it was intact and unopened. I had recently purchased a cheap plastic computer desk that is so flimsy that I was a little concerned that it could collapse and damage my computer components. It was a no brainer! At this sale price I would be foolish to pass up such a good buy. So, buy it I did. I set it up as soon as I got home (very easy to do) and put my computer components on it. It's almost perfect, compact size, very stable and a clean modern design. The only thing I had to add was something to use as a mouse pad. The clear glass top wouldn't let my optical mouse work. All in all I am more than pleased with my purchase.
