I now have three and want another. They're sleek, don't fall forward like the 36" one did, slide easily, come assembled [...] it was easy to put the "bars" inside where they belonged and to load up the hanging file folders and then stuff all my files in there, I've put lots of stuff on top, and they really spruced up my home office space. A reasonable price and worth it.

I wanted a relatively low priced, moderate-use file cabinet for my home business. This fits the bill. It has a BIT of that "flimsy" feel but I don't actuallly truly feel it'll buckle like so many cheap-o thin metal products do. HOWEVER.. this is my 1st lateral file cabinet and I was unable to open the bottom drawer. There was NO explanation, nor any hint in the catalog or its actual instructions as to the real reason. There was series of steps in the manual one had to do with about 4-5 tools you had to have.[...] Monday a.m. I called the 800# and the lady read up on the product and noticed that something (that SHE had access to, it wasn't in my catalog nor online description, at least not that I noticed??...) mentioned that on some of these, the key "only opened the bottom drawer". So I told her to hold on, and I messed around AGAIN with the key and after 2-3 experiments, it opened right up. Turns out, you can't have more than one drawer open at a time. Logical, but not obvious to a first-time owner when the bottom one simply does not, well, open! and we had tried turning the key one direction and so on, like one would THINK - but that's not even how it works. If you get one of these, you won't *regret* it, just know that it's good for moderate use, it slides nicely, it looks compact and clean and sleek (and don't bother to buy the accessories like I did to have lleft/right filing as it comes with bars for that which *also* are not explained, you have to figure it out, not a problem but it should be in the manual!!!). Only get the accessory for front to back filing if you happen to desire to use it that way. (Yes, I can return the unnecessary accessories I bought to my local Staples store - a plus). Yes, I'd recommend this product but just know that even that lady wasn't entirely correct - only one drawer opens at a time, once you get it going. Push one in fully or the other one won't open.
Filing cabinets are over priced in general however this model meets my needs for my office at home. I work out of the home for a company and it is important that my work area is presentable and looks good. The stylish design looks great and provides lots of storage room for my files. The drawers glide relatively smoothly and it is important that you realize that you can only have one drawer open at a time. If one of the drawers is not completely closed, it will prevent you from opening the second drawer.
The sharp corners of the drawers are open and can cause injury. Either the metal meeting at the corners should be seamed in or a durable corner cover should be place so that people and small children dont get hurt.

Q:
I have one of these cabinets that was purchased a few years back and 1 of the rods to hold the files is missing is there anyway to get a replacement? I do not want the front to back rails, I want the rail that can adjust from letter to legal files left to right.
