Purchased this to carry important files in case of emergency evacuation (hurricane). Will fit easily behind front seat of car, and handle on top makes it easy to carry. Lid looks like it would keep files dry in most conditions except floods

Hinges are not sturdy for long-term use. Even in the store, the display file boxes looked as if at least a third of them were already broken or getting there. Bought anyway as no more-expensive items were available that had the same type of storage capabilities (with handle, easy to push behind a door or into a closet, lightweight yet accommodating). Only thing available, really, short of a full-blown filing cabinet. Needed it for storing tax information and old returns.

        Made of heavy duty plastic; inside construction has sturdy "gutters" to hold standard-sized hanging files. Lid usually can be opened and shut with one hand, and locked with your combination/keyed padlock for added security. Comfortable, free-swinging handle. Flat on 4 of 6 sides; fits conveniently into even the smallest work area. Adhesive labels stick to the exterior for easy labeling. It's like having your file cabinet drawer with you no matter where you're working!
