The side bars on the rack turned out to be adjustable-- just use pliers to bend the bars in at the notch that suits the length you need. It wasn't easy, but it was doable. Doing this, we got this 18 inch rack to fit perfectly in my 16 inch drawer. Its working out very nicely, great product :)

I ordered the hanging file frame because there is a frame missing in one of my file drawers. I could not assemble the frame. It claims that the rails are "scored" so they can easily be pulled apart with pliers. This is not true. The metal was sharp and turned into a frustrating and dangerous process. I put the un-assembled mess back in the box, kept the file folders and tabs and threw the frame away.

I was told it would slip right into my drawer. Not true. I had to get pliers, metal cutters and some strength to cut to the length that I needed. This is not for someone with weak hands. It would have been nice if that had been mentioned before ordering.

I have a 36in lateral 2-drawer Hon file cabinet that is missing the file bars that the manufacturer provides. Is their anyway that I can purchase the file bars? I cant seem to file hanging file frames that will accomidate the drawer correctly.
