This mat is thick. I ordered a higher end one so that it would last forever, and also not get stuck on chair casters, etc. But I was surprised by how pretty it was! it is crystal clear, and lets my hardwood show through beautifully--not what I have seen in offices.
so, great for home or high-end use or anywhere where looks count.

Mat won't stay put

[...] It slides quickly until it runs up agains the desk leg then pushes up the side of the desk. I have to reposition this mat several times each day.

After seeing the damage done to hardwood floors without having a chairmat, I wanted a chairmat as soon as my new hardwood floor was installed. This chairmat does protect my floor where my chair sits, but it does slide around somewhat.
