This mat is thick. I ordered a higher end one so that it would last forever, and also not get stuck on chair casters, etc. But I was surprised by how pretty it was! it is crystal clear, and lets my hardwood show through beautifully--not what I have seen in offices.
so, great for home or high-end use or anywhere where looks count.

I have had this mat for about 2 years. I work at least 5 days a week with my chair sitting on this mat. The mat protects the rug, and allows my chair to roll more freely. After two years, I need to buy a new one. As plastic mats in the past this one too crumbles. My next mat will be a higher priced rubber mat. "You get what you pay for", as they say.

I use the mat under my computer chair to protect the wood floor. The top layer of the varnish/shellac on the floor was starting to peel from years of the wheeled chair rolling back and forth over it. The mat is exactly what I was looking for.
