Was hoping these would be sturdy enough to store books, but I have to use them for lighter storage. The weakest point is the flimsy lid which makes it impossible to stack very high, esp. over a prolonged period. The size is convenient: I now use the Staples triple wall (letter size) boxes for books, two side by side, and this legal box fits nicely on top.
I intended to use the product to store files and books but found that its construction is not sturdy enough for the resulting weight. It would be better if it were not as long - then it would hold less paper but would be easier to handle and move and it would be sturdier and provide longer term use. Instead, I now use it to store materials lighter than paper/books, and it does fine for such purposes.
My company has a lot of ongoing projects and at the end of each project we would file the projects in individual boxes and sometimes we would have 2-3 boxes of the same project. The legal size makes it easy to have everything pertaining to this one project in one box and I don't have to go searching for a missing box if they should get separated. Great idea, would most definitely recommend to friends and other organize oriented individuals.
