Q: Contrary to the assembly instructions, the tilt handle is on the right side of the chair while sitting in it. The handle slides in and out easily enough but the chair neither tilts, rocks of whatever its supposed to do. The lever you are speaking of is to raise and lower the chair height when pushed up or down. When pushed back and forth, you can adjust the lumbar support. This chair automatically "tilts" when you move, but there should be a tension adjuster on the side of the bar just above the wheels in the form of a knob which you will turn to the left or right until the springiness is to your liking. Q: I have this chair and it says it can do knee lock. How do you do it? When you push the lever on the left all the way in when its fully reclined, it holds that position. Is that the "knee lock?" Or do you push it in when its part way reclined and it holds the knee bolster up? I think it might be broken if its supposed to do that. Not sure.
