Q: Contrary to the assembly instructions, the tilt handle is on the right side of the chair while sitting in it. The handle slides in and out easily enough but the chair neither tilts, rocks of whatever its supposed to do. The assembly instructions are almost worthless and I can't see where I could have made a mistake in its assembly. Asked on 6/16/2012 by Bill from Santa Maria, CA Know the answer? The lever you are speaking of is to raise and lower the chair height when pushed up or down. When pushed back and forth, you can adjust the lumbar support. This chair automatically "tilts" when you move, but there should be a tension adjuster on the side of the bar just above the wheels in the form of a knob which you will turn to the left or right until the springiness is to your liking. Q: I have this chair and it says it can do knee lock. How do you do it? When you push the lever on the left all the way in when its fully reclined, it holds that position. Is that the "knee lock?" Or do you push it in when its part way reclined and it holds the knee bolster up? I think it might be broken if its supposed to do that. Not sure. Asked on 5/30/2012 by Bryan from Fort Myers, Florida Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: Bryan, you asked the same question I've been wondering about. You say your knee lock handle is on your left. Do you mean it's on your left as you're sitting in the chair or if you're looking at the chair? While I sit in my chair the lever is on my right. It slides in and out easily enough, but either in or out, the chair will neither tilt nor rock. I suppose I'll have to take a trip to our local Staples and see if they have this model chair and someone who can explain its operation. The instructions that came with the chair are almost worthless. Answered on 6/16/2012 by Bill from Santa Maria, CA A: The Staples Herrick Bonded Leather Executive High-Back Chair offers knee tilt with adjustable tilt tension and tilt lock. This means the chair tilts from a point at the front of the seat keeping your feet on the floor as you rock. The tension is adjustable, and will lock in positions to accommodate your posture. If you require further assistance please call in to customer support at 1-800-333-3330. We will connect you to a Staples Brand Group support associate. Answered on 6/1/2012 by Cindy R from Staples

Q: Does the 'weight rating' catagory mean that the chair will break if somebody weighing more than 225 pounds sits in it? Asked on 2/8/2012 by Anonymous from Effingham, Illinois Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: This chair is rated as safe for 8 continual hours supporting a 225 person, similar chairs are available in sizes that support more weight, so it would be better for a a person at 225 pounds to go for a sturdier and safer rated chair. After continual use, this chair, supporting 225 may break down quickly. Answered on 2/13/2012 by Community Answer from None
