I was initially attracted to the styling of this chair, but was "sold" once I sat in it. I am a trim, 5'4" male who finds most chairs to be way too big to be ergonomically comfortable. This one fits just right! The seat depth allows me to place both feet on the floor comfortably without having to sit forward, the back is the correct angle and has just the right amount of lumbar support, and the height allows me to lean my head back easily. The chair back was difficult to assemble, due to a bolt hole which was not machined properly, but was easy otherwise. Assembly was manageable on my own, but I would have appreciated a helper. The "brushed aluminum" arm brackets are actually a very heavy and sturdy-appeariing plastic, and the tilt spring is a bit stiff, but those are minor complaints. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this chair and would recommend it highly, especially for somone of smaller stature.

I found this chair to be very easy to assemble. Had a little trouble getting the screws that hold the arms to line up. Other than that it was very easy. The over all quality of the build is excellent for the price. If you like to tilt back in your chair ever once in a while don't buy this chair.I've tried repeatedly to adjust the tilt adjustment and made sure it was in the unlocked position, to no avail. The chair simply will not tilt back in the slightest. Oh well, maybe it will help me with my posture. At least it's fairly comfy and decent lumbar support.

I was shopping for a good work chair for my back problems. This is so comfortable for my low back. Good support. It helps me to sit in the upright position comfortably, which avoids back issues. The cushion is wonderful. I work a 9 hr. day and it is helping my back.I don't have back problems sitting so long now. I would pay $10 to have Staples assemble it, if you have back problems. :) I do highly recommend this chair and the brown color has a slight reddish tint for women :)

I put it together myself as it wouldn't fit in my car assembled. Not too bad until I got to the backrest. All the hardware is nicely packed. The screws are threaded right to the end and very difficult to get started. In my experience, most applications where you have to find the threads, the screws have a slight nose so you can get them started easily. Just changing the style of screws would make this much easier to assemble.

I am looking to purchase a new office chair for the owner of our company. He is looking for something comfortable but without arms. Do the arms have to be installed on this chair? Also his office is carpeted and he does not want a carpet pad so are the hooded caster - carpet caster??? I just want to make sure if we do not put the arms on this chair it will not affect the sturdiness of it?
