    My last chair mat from Staples was twice as thick as this one. By itself, the chair sinks into mat somewhat. Sitting on the chair (135#s), the chair sinks quite a bit and makes it hard for the chair to roll around. Only time will tell how long before this mat cracks. It seems the mats are getting thinner and thinner, while the prices keep going up. My last, much sturdier mat, lasted only 3 years before starting to crack and crumble. I would estimate this mat to take much less time to achieve the same result.
