Good pencils

I use these pencils often for general classwork, taking notes, homework, etc. They work just as well as more expensive brands of mechanical pencils. The leads provided don't break particularly easily and the writing quality is smooth and easy. The eraser is good and doesn't leave smudge marks. Only problem is that the pencils do not come with soft grips, but you can purchase some separately and attach them. Overall, they're good pencils and they serve their purposes well.

Thought these would do the trick. I don't even use a pencil that often, just for certain tasks that require erasing. Even though I think that I use a fairly light amount of pressure while using this pencil, the lead breaks almost every time. It's almost useless. Yea, I know this lead is .5mm, but even when trying the Staples .7mm brand, the lead still broke, though not as often. The BIC .7mm pencils work the best for me.

The only good thing about this pencil is that is, in fact, a pencil. The lead breaks constantly which is infuriating, and I usually use .5 mm. I will not be buying Staples brand pencils again.

since the eraser end must be pushed to extend the lead, when your are erasing the lead extends! silly engineering. the eraser end is flimsy. the eraser falls out. just not well designed at all. the papermater version is totally better.

I use this product almost everyday and love them, these are sleek and organized looking with many wonderful colors. These pencils write very well, also I love the fact the you can put top eraser on them very easily and It looks WONDERFUL! You should most definetly invest in these outstanding Staples brand mechanical pencils.

While I consider myself 'Value Oriented,' I still need to have supplies and equipment that work. I will even at times put up with items that aren't of the very best quality if they are a little less expensive.

This is NOT one of those products! The lead breaks constantly with very little preasure. Every once in a while is not a big deal, but it's so frustrating after awhile when it happens so frequently.

My advise - I see no use for these in any situation. Pull out a few extra pennies and get something else.
