Perfect for me

I use this shredder occasionally to dispose of junk mail and confidential papers. It is really easy to use, lightweight and small enough to fit under my desk. I like that it is quiet...Read complete review

I use this shredder occasionally to dispose of junk mail and confidential papers. It is really easy to use, lightweight and small enough to fit under my desk. I like that it is quiet and shreds quickly. The slot is big enough to fit a standard size paper although it is almost exactly that size so putting in a stack of papers means you have to line them up perfectly or fold them in half.

Removing the shredded paper from the bin is also easy since all you have to do is press a button to release the lid on the underside of the shredder and the shreds fall right into the trash can. It can sometimes get messy if the bin is too full because it falls out all at once, but otherwise I really enjoy that feature.

This shredder has a nice design, is really easy to use, and has a quality look and feel. If you don't do heavy shredding this one is perfect.

Piece of Garbage

Purchased this Minimate Cross-Cut Shredder.
Have had it a few weeks now it constantly jams the inside where the shredded paper comes out into the bin has bulged.
I have cleaned it numerous times after just a few pieces of paper it jams up again and finally the overload light comes on.
I have had several of the staples shredders and the one with the bin upon jamming just stopped working so I got this one.
The only difference is this still runs the other 2 I purchased died so they are probably going to be thrown out.
This one is going back for another try.
Right now I would rate this as a ZERO best use is a light weight boat anchor.
Run from this junk.

      What a waste of money. I set it up and started shredding. I was careful not to overload it, but I fed some paper in a bit crookedly and it doubled up on itself and caused a jam. Even though I worked from both sides of the slot, I could not get the paper out, it was jammed in so tightly. After following the clearing-a-paper-jam directions with no luck, I spent at least fifteen minutes with tweezers and scissors, trying to scrape out the paper, and finally gave up. [$] for ten minutes of shredding. Not a bargain in my book.

          The first one we bought lasted 3 weeks. Called Staples, they told me to call manufacturer. The person answering phone spoke poor English. Neither Staples nor manufacturer could find my purchase date. I bought a second one and it works fine. But don't trust the manufacturer customer service phone number... unless you speak Manderin. Not worthy of the Staples name.
